EOPL - The first Ampere Branch
Ampere Branch Library
On March 17, 1923, Ampere Branch opened in two rented stores at 57 Fourth Avenue. The location is currently
occupied by a convenience store. The branch moved into a building of its own, a converted firehouse at 39 Ampere
Plaza, in March 1931. Ampere Branch is the only library facility in the city not built with Carnegie funds.
